September 1999. We arrive at Bishkek, the capitol of Kyrgyzstan to shoot the film The Stars’ Caravan. As a matter of fact my situation is better to begin with than what one would expect, considering we’re making a documentary, and especially in a so-called exotic place.

Documentary cooperation - Possibility or pitfall?

Lately international film festivals have presented many daring and interesting documentaries that successfully challenge the traditional documentary narrative. They demonstrate the wide variety of possibilities in which the documentary can progress as an art form. In addition to preserving and strengthening the traditional methods of making (and narrating) a documentary, the diversification of documentary narrative is an important goal.
